Fungo bats are designed specifically for coaches to hit fungos during practice — not for live game hitting. They're longer (typically 35"–37"), lighter, and have a much smaller barrel than a player bat. The extended length and narrow barrel give coaches precise control when placing grounders, fly balls, and infield angles. They are not intended to hit pitches from a pitcher — using a fungo for live hitting will damage it quickly.
Most coaches use a 35"–36" fungo for infield work and a 36"–37" fungo for outfield fly balls (the extra length helps generate loft with less effort). Juiced Coach Fungos come in standard sizing appropriate for both infield and outfield practice. If you're coaching youth players and spending long sessions hitting, go lighter — bat speed and control matter more than length for youth coaches.

To extend life: hit with the grain logo facing toward or away from the target, not sideways; avoid hitting rubber practice balls; and store the bat indoors at room temperature.
